Ain’t no heaven on the backseat of dad’s Passat. As one of our personal favourites, this project was also quite a challenge.
While trying out different music moods for the film both director Gary Freedman and our researchers found out that with most pieces of music you could only relate to either one of the two main characters.
So our task was to come up with a song that works for both father and boyfriend as well as finding the right tonal balance between and outsider’s and an insider’s view with something that is both slightly sad/tragic and light-hearted.
We have also tried out loads of different instruments for the main melody: bluesharp, flute, bass flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, melodica, accordion, trumpet, flügelhorn.
